– Itinerary: departing from Tuan Chau International Marina, the boat will take you to Dau Go island to visit 02 famous beautiful caves in Ha Long bay: Thien Cung grotto và Dau Go cave. Finishing the trip on Dau Go island, the boat will take you to some unique destinations in Ha Long bay: Cho Da islet, Ba Hang cave, Dinh Huong islet, Trong Mai islet (Ga Choi islet). After that, you will be taken to pass a number of limestone islands in different shapes of Cat Ba area (Hai Phong)

Thien Cung grotto is one of the most beautiful caves in Ha Long bay. It is located on Dau Go island, the westernmost point of the World Heritage Site and Natural Wonder. It is about 20m high above the sea level with the ground area of about 3.000m2. With the system of magnificent and bright stalactites and stalagmites as carved from crystals, visiting the cave, you will feel like being lost in a splendid palace so that it was named “Thien Cung” (the heavenly palace). Thien Cung grotto was form by the karst process in the mid-late Pleixtoxen period (dating back 700.000 – 11.000 years ago). The system of stalactites and stalagmites is still in the process of formation and development.

Dau Go cave is known as “the cave of wonders” . It is one of the earliest detected caves in Ha Long bay. For a long time, Dau Go cave has become a famous destination of Ha Long, therefore, the local people had a folk song:

“Hon Gai has Bai Tho mountain
Dau Go cave and Long Tien pagoda”

Ba Hang cave includes 3 small notch caves close to each other and connecting with 2 saltwater lakes outside, therefore, it was called “Ba Hang”. The highlight that the Creator added to this landscape is the evergreen vegetation on limestone islands, vertical cliffs or large valleys formed by and covered with rich layers of tropical forest vegetation. The space here is peaceful, quiet and poetic.

Cat Ba Biosphere Reserve is 25 km from Ha Long bay to the Southwest. Cat Ba archipelago is an attractive destination with 400 big and small islands. The freshness of air, typical and abundant ecosystems and indigenous cultural values of local people are factors to create unique and attractive tourist products.

Cat Ba National Park is a tropical primary forest with diverse terrain, an abundant system of fauna and flora, including rare and precious species, especially Cat Ba langur which was listed in the World Red Book and strictly protected by UNESCO. This is the primates only found on Cat Ba island. With international significance of biodiversity, in 2004, Cat Ba National Park was recognized by UNESCO as a World Biosphere Reserve with a total area of over 26,000 hectares.

After visiting Cat Ba, the boat will take you back to Tuan Chau International Marina and finish the itinerary of route 5 in Ha Long bay.
